As known, one of the most interesting things on GraalOnline is developing worlds. Whether in animation, graphics, levels, or scripting, these development skills are one of the most powerful things on the game.

Of course, being staff on a world doesn't hold back the chance to have your own content on a world. For years, GraalOnline players have improved their creativity and skills to develop their own player graphics! That's right, whether in bodies, heads, shields, or swords; you can make your player look however you want! Whether being from the future, in a high-tech outfit to being a knight in the medieval times, all these custom looks can be made at your own wish!
These templates can be edited via any graphical related program. Once the template has finished it's recommended to remove the area's that should be transparant.
Don't forget that Graal offers the application [[Creation/Dev/Tools#Gif2mng_converter|gif2mng.exe]] which can be found in the development package. This application can convert any '.GIF' image type into a '.PNG' image type.

* '''January 29th''' - '''Classic Update''' {{News/Playerworlds}}

[[Image:Classichurt.png]]

Over the last few months work has been made towards subtle updates to improve playability of the server in the long run.

The first main example of this is the new Hit Detection,
which is Clientside, as opposed to the Serverside Hit Detection which had been used since after Classic got an NPCserver.
The difference is that the previous HD caused players from the opposite side of the Atlantic to where the Server is hosted
or from other locations around the world to be at a disadvantage, supposedly being able to be hit from a long distance away,
whereas the new HD ensures attackers must be close to you on your own screen in order for you to be hit, to put it simply.
There is also the option of being able to spar/pk within special rooms that use the default Graal movement + HD.

The second main example would be the new Map System.
This is aimed to help players that are new to Graal or the server to find their way around more easily.
If you've ever attempted to quest on the server but have been confused as to where to go next,
icons will be marked at locations depending on your quest progress.
Locations containing obtainable items of interest are also marked on the Map regardless of progress.
Any future releases can be added to this easily.

Our plan has always been to salvage the best content from Graal the Adventure and to build new content around it
with the original Graal feel while keeping newbie-friendly,
although we realise it is just as important for there to be recyclable content that can be played constantly around the clock.
In order to accomplish both of these goals we feel the Dev Team requires a shake-up and so we'd like to invite anyone interested
in working for the server to apply with our new application, which can be found at -
http://classicgraal.net/applications/development/

Good luck to all of those that apply.

* '''January 22nd''' - '''AEON Comming to an end!''' {{News/Playerworlds}}
[[Image:Aeon_hiring2.png]]

So the long expected wait of AEON's re-release of the modern world is almost here but we are in desperate need of staff to finish.
Also Elan is almost complete aswell and once Opan is finished we will then re apply for the classic tab.

So listed below are the developer positions that are open and needed. Everything is open except for NAT at the moment:
* LATs (Both Classic and Modern LATs[[http://aeon.arklandonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=288]]
* Gani Team[[http://aeon.arklandonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=289]]
* SFXs, Talk to HL or SwedishKing.
You can also find us on GraalForums, or on our forum:

* '''January 10th''' - '''Classic's Monthly Spar Tournament''' {{News/Playerworlds}}

A new year brings a fresh start--the first monthly spar tournament of 2009! '''Laura (xnervNATx)''' takes home the champion belt this time around, beating Shiden Kotetzu in the last round. Let's hope his New Year's resolution wasn't to win.

Don't forget to stop by on '''February 14th''' for what is bound to be our most romantic monthly spar tournament yet!

* '''January 10th''' - '''Azure Skies underway!''' {{News/Playerworlds}}

Azure Skies! (Formerly called Silence)

[[Image:Jamie.jpg]]

Sailing the skies, pillaging enemies, advancing through the ranks in your crew/flag and taking control over whole islands! Cool, eh?

* We're under way with absolutely everything that needs doing, including bar levels and SFX.
**Think you can level/sfx? Then hop on to Azure Skies and see if it's the place for you!

* We're also in need of some extra GATs to push along creation of certain aspects, such as swords and boats (both large and small).
**If you feel up to the challenge, by all means come give us a look.

* Even if you don't have any development skills, come along and see the server thrive. We're adding new things for players to do while you wait for the grand opening, so why not hop on board (Geddit?) and check us out for yourself!

-Jamie (Co Manager)

* '''January 6th''' - '''New Year for Unholy Nation''' {{News/Playerworlds}}

[[Image:streety.png]]

* Unholy Nation is currently under going a lot of changes. Our new manager Streety is offering a more interactive experience for Graalians. A lot of our staff members have been hard at work, creating some hot new features to make your gameplay more fashionable.

* Ronnie, our Guild Admin, has put together a spectacular local guild engine to make your guild gameplay experience convenient and fun. By joining local guilds, you'll get the benefit of using a chat-system to communicate leisurely with your guild mates. It's got a pretty user-friendly interface and is definitely worth a passing glance.

* Unholy Nation now offers server-wide PKing. Anything goes when the PKing on the overworld.

* Unholy Radio is under a new radio server, with a new Head DJ (Thanks Wreckage!). Time slots and hirings for DJs are still underway, if you're interested. Head over to the server, and keep your eyes peeled.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM our friendly staff.
They'd be more than delighted to help you.

'''Project Mythic''' is in grave need of help from Level Makers and Graphic Artists. The potential is there, but the man power is not. We want to create a quite big town (10x10 levels), but we simply lack the people for it.

We seek those of you who are experienced, or at least know your way around, with creating levels. We do have a custom tileset, so "practice makes perfect" comes to my mind. We're in '''huge''' need of anyone that can be of assistance in this department!
If that wasnt all, we are keeping our eyes open for anyone with a talent for graphics that'd be interested in helping. Your task would mainly be to assist with tile requests, or you who wish to design clothing/equipments etc.
* '''May 25th''' - '''The Adventure of Questing is back on Classic'''

After having gone through many small changes to rebuild both the Original Graal and Adventure feel, Classic has finally seen the release of 2 new Quests, in the form of Sardons Tower and the Gnome Caves. Both are implemented as part of a main storyline and should provide a decent hour of gameplay at minimum, more details are contained inside of the npcserver message.
* '''May 6th''' - '''Project Mythic: Call for help''' {{News/Playerworlds}}

[[Image:ProjectM1.png]]

If that wasnt all, we are keeping our eyes open for anyone with a talent for graphics that'd be interested in helping. Your task would mainly be to assist with tile requests, or you who wish to design clothing/equipments etc.

Come check us out, there's no harm in that! If you do want to apply, contact me (xXziroXx) by:

On Friday night a red pistol event will be held (time will depend on number of players online).
On Saturday afternoon, an event will be held for red pistols at 19:30 server time (1:30pm est).

Due to the recent disputes over what playerworld content belongs to whom. Graal's Playerworld Administration is using this method to allow all parties involved to state their cases for ownership and resolve the matter once and for all.

The normal method for this in the past has been whoever rented the server space owned the content along with Graalonline. Regardless of who has developed what, once it is uploaded onto the server, the content belongs to this server and whomever paid for the server owned the content. In the case of free servers it was owned by the current management and Graalonline.

Recently there have been several cases of developers and owners claiming content. Server renters allowing others to develop on their playerworlds. Leading them to believe the content still would belong to the developer then claiming the content as their own.

Please keep in mind that according to Playerworld rules as stated on the forums. Any files uploaded into the file-manager becomes the sole property of GraalOnline. When a player works for a playerworld as a 'Staff' member all files given to the manager to upload, or uploaded themselves, becomes property of GraalOnline. Temporary usage rights (until shutdown of a playerworld) is given to the playerworld manager while the playerworld is online. This right of usage is terminated when the playerworld is shut down. This means, Graalonline is not required to authorize or even provide this content but are trying to help players in the development of their servers.

Currently on dispute are content for Atrius, Oakdale and Spawn. It seems Endora and Ol'West content has been resolved.

What we would like each of those involved to do is state their account name, Playerworld name and/or number and why they believe the content belongs to them. Since we are dealing with the content of more than one server make sure you state which content you are claiming. Please prove your case, don't just claim its yours because you say so. Once we feel we have enough information to make a judgement. Our word will be final and if the content is not removed from other playerworlds appropriate action will be taken. All current support tickets for claims will be responded to appropriately and closed.

Please do this in a civilized manner, no flaming, no useless comments. Just the facts as you see them.

Best scriptor and global graal has ever had. If they give out awards for non corruptness he should get it. In all honesty though Ibonic is a huge asset to graal, he works hard and actually gives a damn what happens. He should be recognized for that.
